Honda Civic 1973 Alternator Regulator Repair Guide

DESCRIPTION
Honda regulators consist of a voltage regulator and a charge indicator relay. Dual contacts are used both regulator and relay.
TESTING
Prior to adjusting or testing regulator, test the alternator output as described for Honda Alternators.
Voltage Regulator - Start engine and remove negative battery cable. Connect a voltmeter between positive battery terminal and disconnected negative battery cable. Increase engine speed to 2000-2500 RPM and read voltage. If voltage is not within specifications adjust voltage regulator. If regulator cannot be adjusted to within specifications, replace alternator regulator.
